Suggestion about leechers
There should be a way for higher ranking members to view higher ranked proxy lists, for example a subforum where we post 50% of our list there and 50% for public, and the only people that have access to the private area are people that also post proxy lists, so it would be a very cool thing. I trhink i got ocnfusing in the middle of that, let me recap it.
There should be a provate subforum where users post 50% of their proxy list, and the other 50% on the public forum to be leeched, the only people that are allowed to viuew the private area, are OTHER people that post proxy lists, or people who donate. I think this will be a GREAT idea, because it will make leechers want to contribute a bit to get access to the private area and bring in some money, because im sure poeple will donate. And for other poeple who post proxy liosts, they will just post half there and half on other forum, thus, us, the people that spend time for leechers will have access to a sub-forum where the lists dont die in 2 hours. This will be great if implemented, please read this idea. Infact, Ill PM thisa to you Insomniac.

On some of my other non related sites I setup something similar to this. In the end I found a reasonably successful way to handle this. I would be happy to implement something similar here, however donations are a touchy subject, but would allow me to remove Ad's from the forum. If I did accept donations for this, how much does everyone think is a fair ammount to set donations at?

I would think about 2 dollars for a month members to private area. at least that will give some amount of income. I wouldnt charge more than that, because the leechers would just go to another forum that is free. But Ill be very happe to see this implemented!

personally, I've always felt that donations / money for something should be a voluntary thing. Incentives offered for folks that show an interest in helping out can come in various forms. let's face it.. post count means nothing if it's only a "thank you" .. but if a majority of the posts that ones does.. helps the community, then they should have a reward for their efforts too..
so while DCS could have a protected section for those who have the ways and means to pay a bit of money. I'd also like to see some options for others who might not have the means monitarily.

I will ALWAYS provide a completely public section like I do now, so please don't worry. I am very much against forcing people to donate.

I also think that donations should be voluntary. 2 dollars may not seem like a lot, but to some people on a regular basis, with other financial commitments, this may be tough.
Thanks Insomniac. I think boards are much better when they're free

I was thinking something like this might be a fair access requirement:
1) Post one quality list per week for a short time to prove your skills
or
2) Donate $4 every three months via SMS for access. All you need is a mobile and thats only $1.33/month which is less than a bottle of coke. That would also allow younger users to donate without having to borrow their parents credit card.
How does that sound?

This sounds pretty fair. But I wondered about all those members who don't have the skills or chance (ex. internet connection, hardware) for whatever reason, to share a list?

Those that cant contribute, will just have to use the public lists! Because this really isnt fair for people like me insomniac and others who post lists every day just to be leeched, this WOULD be a great idea, and I would very much like to see it put up.
