A method that I have utilized on my board that ellimates people from leeching without posting is a simple hack for phpBB you can find: HERE.

Its a hide bbcode that topic starters would put around their proxy lists and prevent folks from copying until they had posted a reply to the thread.

An additional hack that could curb people from posting meaningless replies simply to see the lists, would be THIS hack. This modification allows you to set a minimum number of characters for replying to a topic.

Both of these should require very few edits and thus take little time out of your busy schedule.

I have been on boards with this these hacks installed, and to be honest, they have annoyed the hell out of me. I strongly beleive against forcing people to perform meaningless repetitive tasks every day to get their lists. As with anything, there is always a better solution. At the moment that solution looks like I will have to get a faster box for this server.

That would be superb, however I will need to take a look at what prices I can procure a suitable machine for first.
