I personally think a distributed scanner would be a good idea.. the only thing I would like to know is if it would have an option to leave out certain countries in the scan - because I don't like scanning certain countries these days.

Although this generally leads to some nice results however it's not really an option for most people.

I even use to scrape statistic tracker sites for lists of IP's and I currently run several email accounts purely for Spam which with over 10,000 spam emails/day I generally get around 50 working non RBL listed Socks.

Plain old sequential scanning has also had nice results for me too. I just currently don't have time to setup another box for the purpose while I am in Chicago.
I finally found logs, And have great resources for IP's who have been blacklisted/banned for spam/proxy use and it really helped me out Insomniac, thanks for mentioning it.

I'm currently getting good results with scanning ranges too. Thank god for hostnames, and "resolve".

I currently use SuperScan 4 for scanning. I like it a lot. Has a lot of good features like (multiple whois lookups), and (bulk resolve). If only charon could resolve that fast. (not to mention copy and paste ranges or single IP's into the scan list

Are there any preferred IP Ranges to really find proxies or is this just luck?
