For those of you who wish to keep your proxy testing software capable of providing the most accurate Country Lookups, you should download the latest file monthly from the link below.

This will allow you, via your software, to properly determine the Country location for the proxies you test. Remember, nothing will ever be perfect in life, we can only strive towards it.

You extract the GeoIP.dat file by simply right-clicking on the file (GeoIP.dat.gz) which you've saved to your HD (hard drive) and select extract here.

To replace the current file for Charon:

1). Locate Charon's folder on your HD.

2). Locate the current GeoIP.dat file in Charon's root folder.

3). Replace the present GeoIP.dat file with the one you just downloaded and extracted.


To replace the current file for AATools:

1). Locate AATools' folder on your HD.

For me that's C://Program Files/G-Lock Software/Advanced Administrative Tools/

2). Locate the file AATools.dat file in AATool's root folder.

They renamed the GeoIP.dat file and it won't work unless you do also.

3). Replace the present AATools.dat file with the one you just downloaded, extracted and renamed.

It is much better to use GeoLiteCity instead: GeoLiteCity.dat.gz
It is much accurate even at country level.
If you want to use ip info service ProxyHttp.net presents the best: ip info service
