Default Looking for a good socks checker

Hello!
I am looking for a really good socks checker.
I already found some checkers but they are just not really perfect.
They all get too many false positives.
I already found aatools which really checks if I can connect to a real server with the socks proxy but I just can figure out how to make it check my proxies that are not on port 1080 because it always shovels them to the http proxies.
Can you maybe help me in that point or recommend me a really good socks checker like I described it?

Software I use at the moment:
Scanners:nmap, ProxyFire, my own scripts
Checkers: Charon, GPN

Perfection is rarely found in anything in life and it is doubtful you will find it in a proxy checker regardless of whether you are testing for HTTP or Socks proxies. Let me pass on the following quote from Lorissa which might explain your problems in testing socks.

The authentication protection used by socks servers is not checked and that's a major factor in why they cannot be used in browsers and/or applications. ISPs can also have restrictions, your firewall and/or router (if used) could be setup incorrectly, etc., etc.

It is assumed you meant to say "can't" instead of "can".

That is very strange. What version of AATools are you using? Is it a cracked version by chance? I ask these questions because AATools will not allow you to check a port 1080 socks as an HTTP proxy unless you load it individually in the HTTP checking page and load only the IP Address with port 1080 pre-selected. Otherwise it automatically considers all port 1080 proxies as Socks and places them in the Socks testing module regardless of whether they are loaded from a text file or pasted in.

A valid current and paid version of AATools will load all other ports in either the Socks or HTTP modules without problems. Perhaps you are just confused?

Either way, Lorissa, who was one of AATools leading beta testers and a moderator at their now basically defunct site should be able to answer this question if anyone can. But, it is rumored that she has resigned from here.

Oh I use the version that I found in this section here.
But I have got quite an idea now, I'll write a little checker myself.
It'll try to get a web page through the proxy and verify it. That should do the trick.
It will be quite slow as I don't know anything about writing programs with multithreading right now but the results will be 100% accurate.

I have got Version 5.50 that was posted in this board somewhere. I didn't apply any cracks so I thought it was for free...
I really like the way it checks http proxies because I can look at the judges answer and it seems to be very very accurate, even more than Charon.

That version is much too old and is most likely a cracked version and none of them operated properly. Go to their site and download the latest (trial) version. You can only check a maximum of 100 proxies at a time with it, but it should answer the question about what AATools can and can't accept port wise for proxies.

Allright I'll try that. But I don't think I can afford to buy it at the moment that's why I was looking for free software.
I'm just a student so $79 is an amount that buys me lunch for nearly 2 weeks.

It doesn't appear to me that anyone was suggesting you purchase AATools, only that you use the trial version to determine the "disputed problems" you reportedly have about not being able to test socks proxies on some ports.
