Default Scanning for proxies with AD

I was wondering if there is a way of determining new proxie ranges to scan for. I recently got lucky and found a branch of fresh proxies, but now they are all dead and haven't had the same success as before. Should i just use random ranges in AccessDiver and hope for the best? or should i start with a working proxy and hope to pick some more branches of proxies along the way..any help would be appriciated.

My normal method is to jump on IRC, find a couple of people on cable connections, and then just scan the Class B range their IP's are on. This tends to work quite well and gives some pretty decent speed Proxies at the end.
