I would like to rent proxy access in various countries throughout the world for web-harvesting purposes. Where can I find something like this?

The closest thing you will find for this purpose is people selling VPN access. Proxies are not really commercial and all custom list providers use Proxy Trojans to infect machines.

I find that amazing - I would think there is quite a demand for this sort of thing. Nevertheless, VPN might work - do you know of any companies offering this type of service?

The problem with Proxies are they generally welcome spam, hence very few companies offer them. I personally offer them on the odd occasion to special customers under the right circumstance but I am still very cautious.

We run web-harvesting applications and require our servers to appear as if they are physically located within the country of choice. We don't send out emails (other than the occasional debugging email to our own tech guys), nor do we do anything else that might fall in a "gray area". It is strictly a spidering application.
