Default Best way to refine an already "Good" list in charo

I’ve taken a list of 300+ proxies in charon and cut it down to about 100 supposedly “Good” proxies by only deleting all the bad and timeouts. The problem is when I pick a proxy at random and plug it into IE they don’t all work, or some of them will forward me to a website purely to advertise their product [very annoying], or some of them will go incredibly slow making them un-usable.

Anyways what is the best way to take a medium sized list that is “good” and cut it down even further to increase the likelihood that I’m left with truly working good proxies? My current timeout setting is 30, should I change that or any other settings for a 2nd scan? Should I take into consideration the ping and “speed” charon rates each proxy?

If you could be explicit, I would appreciate it as I am fairly new to this scene.

Thanks In advance for your help.

Hmmm, it sounds as though you have not read the "help" or tutorials available for Charon, and probably also haven't bothered to read anything about proxy selection. So, I would suggest you do so asap.

I would also suggest that you stop using IE as your browser of choice and switch to Firefox.

It is not uncommon for many ISPs not to allow use of certain ports. Therefore, if that is your case, selecting proxies with a port not allowed would mean you can't use it. You can determine this through trial and error or simply calling (or emailing) your ISP and asking the question.

Regarding your question about proxies which supposedly forward you to a website for advertising purposes, please post the working ones here for "explicit" answer.

As to the proxies that are "incredibly slow making them un-usable", my advice would be to select only fast proxies. Had you done your homework, you would know which ones are fast and which are slow.
