And as you and FreeWorm have been told over and over again, you can NOT handle revisions to software in this manner. When you make a major change you need to (1) announce it publicly, and; (2) change the version number and/or build number (which heretofore has not been used publicly). Reason for this IS: People who have been using the program (including those who have purchased it) will not know there has been a change and so they just continue with the flawed version they have. How friggihn' difficult is that to understand?
FreeWorm told me he had made the necessary changes and sent me a version to verify this. However, he was told the same as stated above (on numerous occasions) ... to simply rename the version and to make the announcement. As of earlier today, you and he (as co-admin of the site) were still pimping v1.22 which is a version number which IS flawed.
You are even so stupid as to include a link that still shows you are pimping v1.22. Give me strength, how dumb are you?

Lorissa, i'm not ProxyFire software developer
so i cant change anything in it
i know that its a bit strange to fix a bug & dont change version number (if build numbers dont use) but it is like it is currently
besides if someone newbie to ProxyFire will know about it & will go to get it he will get bug fixed version currently (again)

Stupid IS as stupid DOES!
Okay, so now you and/or FreeWorm have gotten around to making a change in the verbage on the page you linked to previously. Too bad you didn't think of doing that before providing the link orginally.
The announcement might work for those people who visit your site, but even then not like it would IF the anouncement more appropriately read, "Upgrade to v1.23".
You people want to downplay this as a minor correction. That works for you (meaning whomever is the actual developer of the program), because it minimizes the flaw. In my opinion, any proxy analyzing software that cannot correctly identify a transparent proxy from an anonymous one is not minimal, it's major!
Your announcement does absolutely nothing to notify all those people currently using v1.22 prior to 12/29/07 who didn't obtain the program directly. So again, without changing the version number, you have accomplished nothing and I intend on continuing with my efforts to take Proxyfire out of use as a viable proxy checker every chance I get and everywhere I go until the version number is changed.
You guys want to play the stubborn game? Game on!
Anyone who has used a computer for more than a week understands that when a software developer makes a change in said software, it is done by changing at least the build number if used (they aren't in Proxyfire's case) or the version number. It doesn't make how insignificant the change(s) are, this is the way it's done. That's what people have been taught to look for. Nothing else does the job!
Please write nothing further about this here until you have a link to v1.23.

Thanks a lot Lorissa, I've already noticed that. That is the reason why I have so much anon proxies with EPS, but when I try it with Charon results are bad...

Thanks for all the info, especially Lorissa.
I thought it was just me.
I'm a long time user of Charon.
Decided to try FPL + Bleach. It ran all night. In the morning, there were waiting, 10,000 proxies. I thought, wow!
But putting them through Charon, even using different proxy judges, hardly any came up as live. The ones that were "live," would not let me connect to anything, or were in "dangerous" countries.
A score of 0 for 10,000 isn't very good.
I hope it gets fixed.
For now though, I'll watch the board for what is new and works; until then it's stick with Charon.

UPDATE regarding EPS & FPL:
I have been informed by the author of EPS & FPL that as of today (03/29) the problems I reported to you with it's proxy testing module have supposedly been corrected.
Additionally, the invalid ports of 68660 and 68664, found with some Planetlab/CoDeeN proxies will be automatically converted to the proper 16-bit port by the program.
These issues have been addressed with the release of EPS v1.05.
Reportedly the problems with FPL's proxy testing module, Bleech, are being worked on and should be corrected very soon with a new version.
