Exclamation A lesson in Common Courtesy - please read

The people who bring you all these proxies, tools, tutorials, etc., deserve a "thank you" now and then. When I see people who have been members here for one, two and three years and have never so much as posted anything whatsoever or offered a "thank you" I see red.

I have absolutely no respect for inconsiderate leeches. I also have little respect for people who post bad proxy lists and/or incorrect or misleading information. People who go through life expecting everything in the World to be free, except their own labor of course, make me sick. In my opinion, these people should just be rounded up an literally shot. They are worthless scumbags sucking the life out of everything.

I post this here today because as I scroll through the membership and find people like this, I am hereby notifying you that I will be sending you a PM message. It will, in one way or the other, be asking you why you think your behavior is appropriate and if you fail to respond you will be banned.

We don't expect (or want) people to post "thank you" messages on every visit, and certainly not in every proxy list thread posted. We simply ask that you show some consideration and common courtesy to the people who have given of their time, energy and sometimes resources to bring this material to you.

Do you part please and show (at least on occasion) that you appreciate their efforts.

Very well said Lorissa. I applaud your statements. I also have a zero tolerance for leechers! A lot of people here need to read this!

Hi Lorissa,
People always need to be thanked--or perhaps not if they give Codeen/Plantlab proxies. Even in that case though, there may be some who will use them, so I guess that means if we use a proxy or get something from a message, tell the person, "thank you."

It's been a long time since I've been on the forum, to do anything at all.

Some pretty nasty medical problems, since joining & still going on.

As I am able, I'll drop in and say hi to all, and if I use any proxies, will definitely give a thank you. And I'll try to post some too. --sometimes I wonder though, what's the use=most all go down withing a few hours of finding them.

Thanks for reminding people to be courteous.

No one is asking anyone to offer "thanks" for something considered of no value ... be that a proxy list or information. However, keep in mind that proxy posters have no control over the life of a proxy. All they can do is find them, test them, and post them.

If you are familiar with the practices of DCS, then you know that we do not tolerate the posting of bad lists here. That is not to say that a list can't be considered "bad" as time goes on. But again, if the poster has done the job we ask of them, they can't control what happens in the life of a proxy afterwards.

So, keeping that in mind, should a simple expression of gratitude and appreciation (which takes 2 seconds to offer) be withheld for their efforts to honestly bring you something of value for little to no effort on your part? I think not.

No one here is encouraging anyone to say thanks for a bad list, to do so would only invite more of the same and that is not what any of us want. It is also not our desire for people to go overboard and thank everyone for everything posted here. That is uncalled for, unwanted, and unnecessary.

Your sentiments about Planetlab/CoDeeN proxies are shared by many (including me), but they can be used to surf and many people do use them. Had you been around here lately, you would have noticed that I personally try to identify, separate, and categorize them in all lists posted here. Not sure how long this practice will continue, but it is something we are analyzing.

Got it!!

Will try to strike a 'happy medium' with thanks. Enough to show appreciation, but not enough to be considered excessive.

Nicely done, I'm a new member, but I understand how you feel. Back when I ran a forum, people always leeched off of the exploits and crap, and never did as much as to post in my welcome forum. Those kind of people annoy me. I would post proxies, but I don't know any way to get them[besides FPL, which my OS doesn't like very well], or I would. I'll try to contribute the best I can.

All in all the same as i say at many other boards/sites.

The problem is always the same - the most users don´t see the work behind all the proxy´s so they come, leech and go away.

But if every user do it like this way - in the near future every Proxy-Poster don´t have the energy to post new ones and this is not really the way we like !

So people just give ya all enough power the write down a few words to motivate all the people how supports us with the great Proxies here.
