Whichever one works best for you in the situation you desire to use one.

It is widely believed that it is best to use an azenv in your proxy analyzing software to test large groups of proxies, and a proxyjudge v2.35 to test individual proxies against using your browser.

That's what I normally do.

From what I understand, the reason behind using azenv for large groups is that azenv causes less of a load on the server, allowing the server to stay fast and most importantly - alive. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

That is the basic principle. AZEnv relies on the client software to verify the result while PJ tries to do it itself.
