Default David Archuleta, an unknown, but u won't be disappointed

David Archuleta sings Imagine (3rd verse) on American Idol s07e14

This young man (17) is destined for stardom. Watch and listen to his performance of John Lennon's Imagine and see if you don't agree it is one of the best, if not the best, you've ever heard. Excellent quality video and audio!

I ama huge American Idol fan. I try every year to predict who will be in the finale but this year there is some AMAZING talent. I have no doubt that our boy David A. will be there...... but I am leaning toward Michael Johns, the Aussie, or David C., who rocks on the guitar. I definitely want David Archuletta to win though.

It's a bit early to be predicting, but David Archuleta will be in the final against Carly Smithson. Each are heads and tails above the rest talent wise, but this does look like a very promising year.

Last year was very disappointing, the worst year yet.

My boy David Cook started a little shaky this week but I really got into his performance. I think he did great. But by far, my favorites were Brooke White and Carly Smithson. They were both superb...

On a much darker note, does anyone think that David Hernandez REALLY lost or he was being kicked off bc of the scandal that surrounded him??

Your question regarding David H. is perhaps a valid one, but he was eliminated because he was the worst and received the fewest votes. Personally, I was hoping it would have been Syesha ... she annoys me greatly.

David Archuleta did terrible this week, absolutely terrible, forgetting lyrics is the kiss of death and simply inexcusable! Unless he gets his act together, he will slide way down in the rankings. That's the problem in predicting those to be in the finals too early. He did a fabulous job on "Imagine", but has now let several others pass him. The breeze as they went by almost blew him off the stage!

Carly has always been a frontrunner and remains so, but Brooke White based on her very large fan base, great personality, and so-so talent (I'm being kind actually) has also climbed to the top. David Cook is turning it on and if he starts developing some charisma, he'll give them all a run for the coveted prize.

Kristy Lee Cook, although she might not go too much farther in this competition, will most likely have a career in the Country genre similar to the one Bucky Covington is presently enjoying. Simon was on his class continually as well, which does in fact effect how people vote.

The rest are just treading water and in reality are simply waiting to be sent packing.

* * * * * * * * *

By the way, Leona Lewis puts them all to shame! She won the UK's X-Factor in '06 (similar to AI) and her album will be released in the US on April 18. If you haven't heard her, checkout youtube, google videos, veoh, etc.

I agree with you Lorissa. Little Archuletta was pretty bad. I honestly can't stand the Cook girl. She absolutely murdered one of my favorite Beatles tunes!!

I am still way into David Cook. I want him to win.

I haven't heard of Leona Lewis but I will give her a look-see on youtube.

Thanks!

Great find lorissa! She is indeed very good, and she's pretty sexy to boot. She kind of reminds me of a mix between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. But definitely very good. I will have to check for her cd when it hits here. Thanks!!!

PS - IDOL TOMORROW!!

This season of idol seems to have something for everyone. There are some very diverse styles here, which can make it very entertaining, but also leave the results kind of random. You never know which demographic will carry the evening.

I love Carly as well - but I have concerns about the tightness in her high notes. It's surprising given the support & power she has in the middle register. If she could overcome this, she would be unbeatable.

David A. is a sweetie, and talented for sure. Sometimes he seems a bit too 'studied' for me, but this will come with maturity I think.

I honestly don't have a favorite this season, and will be curious to see who ends up at the top.

To answer your question franko, I do think David H. was dismissed early based on the controversy about his past.
