The problem is not that the Proxy is on the wrong port, it is that it is also being used by many other people, including myself to request the exact same url.
Bulk checking much like Google is done from a basis of the number of requests over a period of time. If 100 requests are made in ten minutes you will be banned. If 100 requests are made over 10 hours you will not. So the solution is to first run all Proxies through a simple verification check to see which are not banned or abused. Just grab a nice big list of Anonymous and Transparent Proxies and run them through it.
After you have the list which should be around 300 long, simply cycle the list while making your requests and do not thread the code to speed it up. The end result is the list should last far longer at the expense of the requests being a little slower.
Remember that we do not want them to start employing Image verification like the Overture Bid Tool now does.
